CGS Website

Our goal is to make the website a resource for members and a way for them to connect with the Society and each other. We also want it to become a place where non-members can go to get information about geriatric care and get interested in joining CGS. Progress has been slow but we are now about to launch some regular online CPD items.

You have already received several Journal Club articles, with critical appraisal of a relevant research publication. The next article will provide readers the option to ask questions of the reviewers and to make comments. We will also be posting a pod cast on office-based care of frail older patients presented by Sid Feldman from Baycrest. Both the Journal Club and pod casts will be coming to members every second month (or so!).

We also hope to add healthcare humanities content for members. Starting in January, a poem related to aging will be posted with opportunity for discussion. This is in collaboration with The Poetry Archive, a prominent website from the UK.  In the New Year we will be developing a narrative medicine “story exchange” to engage members and connect them with others in the field of geriatric care.

If you have ideas about the website please feel free to contact Dr. Chris Frank at frankc@providencecare.ca.

As we are constantly adding new and valuable information to our website, we encourage you to check back often.
