Chair and Chief, Division of Geriatrics
University of Ottawa, Department of Medicine

The Department of Medicine of the University of Ottawa and Ottawa Hospital is looking for a dynamic and visionary leader to be the next Chair/Chief of the Division of Geriatrics. The Division Chair/Chief will lead a dynamic, academic division of 10 members. The Division is considered a leader in medical education targeted at the undergraduate, postgraduate and CME levels with a particular focus on assessment tools for Dementia and Delirium. The Division is considered an International leader in research and education on the association between Driving and Cognitive Decline. The Division is also involved in a wide range of clinical research activities including Osteoporosis, the impact of Dementia on the Caregiver and Gender related issues of Aging. The Division provides a well coordinated comprehensive range of specialized Geriatric interdisciplinary assessment services. Patient care settings include inpatient and outpatient care at The Ottawa Hospital, rural and regional clinics and the GEM (Geriatric emergency management) program.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated academic and clinical leadership as well as strong organizational skills, and have attained a University rank of Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate must have certification in Geriatrics. Salary will be at least $400 K and applicants are encouraged to ask for resources and to have a plan to build on existing strengths.
