Up and Comers
The National Geriatric Interest Group (NGIG), a brand new student initiative under the aegis of the CGS, is a collaboration of 11 of the Canadian medical schools (British Columbia, Alberta, Calgary, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, McMaster, Toronto, Ottawa, Queen’s, Western, and Dalhousie). We are the main source of information and support for students with an interest in geriatrics. The NGIG information is disseminated via email communication to the school-specific Geriatric Interest Group (GIG) and our main website at www.canadiangeriatrics.ca/students.

Resident Geriatric Interest Group (RGIG)
Canada needs more Geriatricians and elder-friendly clinicians! The Resident Geriatric Interest Group (RGIG) is a new resident-driven initiative that aims to increase resident awareness and interest in the field of Geriatrics. We plan to connect potential Geriatric trainees from across the country to facilitate peer networking, as well as mentoring under staff and Geriatric fellows.
We are currently looking for resident representatives from every Canadian residency program to join this new group. If you are interested in participating in this exciting initiative, or would like to refer an interested resident, please contact Martha Spencer (spence33@interchange.ubc.ca) or Amanda Gardhouse (amanda.gardhouse@medportal.ca) for further information.
